Ikea Linen Question for Ikea Shoppers?

are the bed sheets and duvet covers from Ikea pretty soft and well made?

I've only purchased one set of sheets from IKEA so I'm no expert but in my opinion they are not that great. Ours were probably the cheapest kind and full sized. Softness wasn't really our issue. They were fine in that respect, neither good or bad. The problem was they didn't fit the bed at all. I don't know if IKEA mattresses are made differently from US mattresses but the way the sheets fit made us think they have to be. Perhaps IKEA sheets are meant only for IKEA mattresses? Anyway, we used ours twice but couldn't deal with the fit. It was very baggy, saggy, loose, etc. We washed them twice and they seemed to gather a lot of pet hair and lint so we just tossed them. IKEA has a really good return policy so I think you should feel safe getting a set, trying it on your bed and lying down on it to see if you like it. If not, wrap it back up (don't sleep on it) and return it. Good luck. I hope they work out for you. By the way the softest sheets I've ever purchased was a random set from the discount store Home Goods.

where can I purchase 150cmx200cm duvet covers online?

My daughter has an Ikea bed and we need another single duvet cover to fit a quilt that is 150cm x 200cm. Single duvet covers are 135cm x 200cm as standard and Ikea don't have the facility to deliver bed linen. Can anyone suggest where I can find online bed linen in the size required please?
Thanks for the suggestions, neither John Lewis or Shopdownlite do the sizes required but if anybody has any other ideas, I'd be grateful!

They have anything from Twin XL, Hotel Queen, Hotel King, Oversized Queen, Oversized King. I found them very helpful when i was buying my bedding. You're guaranteed good quality for your money.

How to keep a duvet cover on a down comforter?

HI I just got a cover for my down comforter and it seems to be moving around in the cover I got from Ikea. I dont really know how to sew and I dont want to sew it anyway because the point of me getting it was so I could wash it. I thought about safety pins but with my cats and dog I dont think it would be safe. Any ideas?

If you go to Bed Bath and Beyond or Linens N' Things they actually have little clips you can buy special for that purpose. I just bought some at Linens N' Things last week. I haven't used them as I don't have a duvet cover yet, but I have them. You can look them up online at either store's website. Just look up "duvet clip" so you'll know what you're looking for at the store.

What color goes best with a deep eggplant purple (aubergine)?

I just bought a duvet cover from IKEA and it is a deep purple color. I want to contrast it with another accent color, but I'm having trouble choosing. My bed frame and end tables are a deep chocolate wood color, so whatever accent color I choose will have to go well with those, too. The product is called "Tanja Brodyr" on the IKEA website and it is purple colored, if you want to see the exact color for yourself. Thanks for your help!

You have a cool color (purple) and a warm neutral (brown) - you could either spice it up with a heady warm (ruby red, burnt orange, old gold - rather than yellow) think Fall - or another cool to balance the deepness of the brown and purple - such as a blue or green or greenish-blue (teal) or a neutral such as a light earthy color or even white or cream.

You might want to get one of those paint pallete cards and put it on your cover - then you can see which color works best with the other colors, and the overall effect for mood...

I want to know a good place to buy a duvet cover, in the lower mainland. Also, does any one know what sort would go the best with a white day bed that is Very white, as the head board is white and has 2 side parts also white, that are solid wood with no gaps ( the hemnes Ikea white day bed)?
